How Does Guided Treatment Differ?

  • Impressions - Digital intraoral scanning records the mouth for treatment planning instead of conventional impression-taking.
  • Analysis and Positioning - 3D CT data and simulated surgery help plan implant position, supplementing the clinician's experience with three-dimensional information.
  • Incisions - Smaller incisions are intended to reduce bleeding and swelling and support recovery. The surgical approach depends on the individual case.
  • Imaging - 3D CT provides detailed anatomical information for surgical planning beyond two-dimensional images.

Insurance Insurance-Covered Implants

Understanding Implant Insurance Expanded implant insurance benefits for eligible people aged 65 and over have applied since July 2018.

Eligible Korean National Health Insurance members aged 65 and over may receive implant benefits with a standard 30% copayment, subject to eligibility and the lifetime limit of two implants. Please confirm current coverage and materials during consultation.

  • How is the copayment determined? - The insured treatment fee is determined under the applicable national health insurance fee schedule.
  • Are there restrictions on eligible materials? - PFM and zirconia crowns are eligible under the criteria effective 1 February 2025. Individual eligibility must be confirmed.
  • Does implant coverage apply when all teeth are missing? - Implant coverage described here applies to partially edentulous patients. Please ask us to check your individual eligibility.

One-day One-Day Implants

One-Day Implant Placement An option for people with limited time for dental visits.

For suitable cases, extraction and implant placement can take place on the same day under one anaesthetic. This may help people who find repeat visits difficult. Gum and tooth conditions can make the approach unsuitable, so a detailed assessment is necessary.

A flapless approach can mean less discomfort and bleeding with less swelling and a shorter recovery.
Surgery time and visits may be reduced and a fixed temporary restoration may allow chewing on the day of treatment.
Treatment is planned to support oral hygiene and healthy gums, limit complications and place implants accurately.

Comparison with Conventional Treatment

  • Treatment Period - Conventional treatment may take 3-6 months. A one-day approach combines selected treatment steps on the same day when the patient is suitable.
  • Surgical Approach - Conventional treatment may involve an incision followed by restoration after healing. A one-day approach may use flapless placement in suitable cases.
  • Chewing Function - A one-day approach may use a fixed temporary restoration on the day of treatment.
  • After Treatment - Recovery and return to daily activities depend on the procedure and individual condition. Follow the team's postoperative instructions.

Immediate Immediate Implants

Placing an implant immediately after extraction can reduce overall treatment time.

Immediate placement combines extraction and implant placement in one appointment. A temporary restoration may be used to help daily function while treatment progresses. Suitability depends on bone volume and the condition of the gums.

Suitability Criteria

  • Enough bone remains after extraction to stabilise the implant
  • There is no severe gum inflammation or periodontal disease
  • If gum disease is severe, implant treatment may follow a period of bone and gum healing.

PRF Autologous PRF Implants

Supporting Healing Around Implants PRF helps support wound healing and bone formation.

PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin, is prepared from a patient's own blood. It is used during implant treatment to support wound healing and bone formation. Using the patient's own blood limits the risk of rejection.

Bone formation and control of bleeding may be supported.
Healing and immune responses are supported using material prepared from the patient's own blood.
Recovery may be shorter with reduced discomfort and swelling.

Why Does PRF Preparation Matter?

  • Diabetes, osteoporosis and slower healing in older patients can affect integration between bone and an implant.
  • PRF preparation and the equipment used affect the material obtained. Please ask the clinical team about the approach appropriate to your treatment.

UV UV-Treated Implants

Preparing the Implant Surface UV exposure before placement removes organic material from the implant surface and supports integration with bone.

UV treatment is applied immediately before placement to remove surface organic material and increase wettability. This surface preparation is intended to support stable integration between the implant and surrounding bone.

Before UV Treatment - Organic material can accumulate on an implant surface exposed to air and affect its surface properties.
After UV Treatment - UV treatment removes organic material and improves the surface's wettability.

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

Bone integration usually takes about 3-6 months. Including restoration fabrication, the total may be about 4-8 months. Timing varies with bone condition.
Eligible Korean National Health Insurance members aged 65 and over may receive coverage for up to two implants in a lifetime, with a standard 30% copayment. Other treatment is non-covered. We confirm eligibility and cost during consultation.
